How does it work?
Taking the decision to come to therapy is a big step, so it’s important to find the right therapist. Research tells us that the relationship between therapist and client is a major part of successful therapy. I provide a warm, safe and genuine environment, knowing that speaking about our private world can at first seem daunting.
As a Person-Centred therapist, counselling is a collaboration between us, moving away from the idea being that the therapist is the ‘expert’ on you and your needs. We will work together to discover your innate resources so you can become the agent of your own change. Improved self-awareness, in turn, will build self-esteem, promote resilience and clarity of purpose, as well as giving sense of direction. Counselling is a gift to ourselves that is beyond price. The relationship that we have with ourselves is of the utmost importance and sadly, is the one most often neglected. The quality of relationship that we have with ourselves also informs the relationships that we have with others, how we move in our lives and the world.
