Questions

Simply email me at rkingdoncounselling@gmail.com or call/text me on 07811 981 009.  We will arrange a mutually convenient time and location to meet for an initial session.  This first session gives us an opportunity to discuss in more detail, what brings you to therapy and to answer any questions or concerns that you may have.  We can decide whether it feels right for us to work together.  If you decide to continue, we can arrange a regular time and day of the week that is suitable for us.

Appointments last for 60 minutes. In the beginning stages of therapy, frequency and consistency are important and beneficial for building a strong foundation so I recommend weekly sessions for at least the first six weeks. I am open to discussing alternatives if you feel another arrangement would suit.

My standard fee for all sessions is £45.  A limited number of concessionary spaces are available, please enquire and we can discuss this option.

I kindly request cash for the initial session.  Along with cash I accept BACS payments (required on the day of the session) and card payments via my mobile card reader.

I offer both short and long-term counselling and every client is different.  My recommendation will depend on the problem/issue/circumstance that we are working on and your commitment to the counselling process.

For some it is short term work e.g. approximately 6-12 weeks, and for others, longer term work is needed e.g. approximately 6 months and onwards.

I require a minimum of 24 hours notice if you can’t make your appointment.  For notice under 24 hours or a missed appointment, the full session fee is payable.

I strive to offer as much notice as possible if I am unavailable for a scheduled appointment and will endeavour to offer a suitable alternative.

If possible, it is preferable to have a mutually agreed ending; however, the final decision when to end therapy is always yours.

Our sessions together are confidential with particular legal and professional exceptions.  Professional and ethical standards ensure that I have regular time with my supervisor and I may discuss our work together in that confidential setting.  This enables me to be working in the best way I can for my clients.

I may consider widening confidentiality If I feel that you are at risk to harm either to yourself or others, or when legal compliance requires it.  I always endeavour to speak with you first whenever possible.

I work with anyone over the age of 18 on a wide range of issues (but not limited to) such as anxiety, depression, self harm, suicidal thoughts and feelings, relationship difficulties, stress, spirituality, grief and loss and transitions.
